Na’im Rodman, a primary starter the past two seasons, and backup tight end Zach Courtney became the latest Colorado football players to put their names into the transfer portal on Wednesday morning.

Overall, 12 CU players have put their names in the portal since the window opened on Saturday. Players have until April 30 to put their names into the portal.

A 6-foot-2, 300-pound senior, Rodman is the fourth defensive lineman to transfer out of the program this week, joining Allan Baugh, Tyas Martin and Ryan Williams. The Buffs have only six defensive tackles – five on scholarship – for Saturday’s spring game at Folsom Field (1 p.m., ESPN).

During his four seasons at CU, Rodman played in 42 games, with 19 starts. He started 10 games last season and 16 in the past two seasons. Rodman recorded 53 tackles, five tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in his career with the Buffs. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Courtney is a redshirt freshman who appeared in two games last season, preserving his redshirt. The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder from Post, Texas, was a three-star prospect in CU’s 2022 recruiting class.

The Buffs currently have 86 scholarship players projected for next season, two above the NCAA maximum of 85.
