More reinforcements for the 2023 season are on the way for the Colorado women’s soccer program.
Head coach Danny Sanchez and the Buffaloes landed their third Division I transfer of the offseason by adding former George Washington midfielder Isabelle Eskay, the team announced on Wednesday.
A Damascus, Md., native, Eskay is a 5-foot-6 midfielder who started 38 matches and played in 57 total for the Colonials. Eskay started all 18 games for GW in 2022 and finished second on the team with 1,346 minutes played.
Eskay totaled eight points in her four years at George Washington, recording three goals and two assists. She had a career-high five points in her freshman season, registering two goals and one assist. Eskay posted career-highs in shots on goal (10) and total shots (15) in 2022.
Prior to George Washington, Eskay helped Urbana (Md.) High School to a 3A State Championship and a trip to the 4A State Finals. She was a two-time captain and appeared on the High School All-American Game Watch List in her senior year. Eskay was an All-Area honorable mention selection as a freshman and was All-Area First Team as a sophomore and junior. She also picked up Second Team All-State honors as a junior.
In December, the Buffs also added former Columbia midfielder/forward Ally Clark, who was a first team All-Ivy League selection in 2021 after recording five goals and four assists, and Colorado native Jordan Nytes, who was the co-Big 12 Conference goalkeeper of the year last fall as a true freshman. Nytes played at Grandview High School in Aurora. Clark is completing the semester at Columbia and will join the Buffs this summer.
CU’s spring schedule is set to continue on April 8 with a match at Kansas State.
