Pac-12 women’s basketball Players of the Week: Jan. 16

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Destiny Littleton, Gr., G, USC

Littleton scored game-highs of 18 points in both USC victories over California (63-43) and then-No. 2 Stanford (55-46).

Littleton also recorded a game-high tying five assists against the Golden Bears and added a game-high six assists against the Cardinal, totaling 11 assists against just three turnovers in the two wins.

She played a career-high 40 minutes against Stanford to snap the Cardinal’s 32-game conference winning streak and 39-game winning streak against Pac-12 opponents, including the postseason.

USC’s victory snapped a 14-game losing streak to Stanford and was the Trojans’ first win against a top-two team since beating then-No. 2 Stanford, 73-72, on Jan. 6, 2008. It was the Trojans’ first home sweep of the Bay Area schools since 2003-04.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Chance Gray, Fr., G, Oregon

Gray scored a career-high 22 points on Sunday, going 5-for-9 from behind the 3-point line in an overtime loss to Washington State (85-84).

It was the third time this season a Pac-12 freshman has made five 3-pointers in a game and the conference’s 15th 20-point performance by a freshman in 2022-23.

Gray connected on four 3-pointers in the first half, went 7-for-7 at the free throw line, and had an assist and a steal in both games.
