One of the top punters in the ACC is joining the Colorado Buffaloes.

On Monday, former Louisville punter Mark Vassett announced on social media that he is transferring to CU, while the Buffs also picked up a verbal commitment from a four-star prospect in the 2024 class.

Vassett, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining, earned All-ACC honorable mention this season. As a sophomore this year, he ranked 18th in the country with a 44.63-yards per punt average (52 punts for 2,321 yards), which set a single-season record at Louisville.

During his two seasons, Vassett averaged 43.3 yards per punt, the best career average in Louisville history. In his 100 career punts, Vassett pinned the opponent inside of its 20-yard line 36 times and he had 16 punts of at least 50 yards.

Vassett is from Melbourne, Australia, and trained at ProKick Australia before going to Louisville. According to an article on MLive.com, Vassett was working in construction before deciding to give punting a shot a few years ago. He originally committed to Michigan State in May of 2020 before landing at Louisville in 2021.

Also on Monday, 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman Omar White announced his verbal commitment to the Buffs.

White, from Valdosta (Ga.) High School, has a four-star rating from the 247Sports.com composite rankings, which lists him as the No. 108 overall prospect for 2024.

White already has 28 scholarship offers, including from 26 Power 5 schools. New CU defensive coordinator Charles Kelly had been recruiting him at Alabama. And, new Buffs’ head coach Deion Sanders had offered him a scholarship to Jackson State last spring.

CU has two commits for the 2024 class, as White joins Daijon Calimon, a three-star receiver from Lawndale, Calif.
