CU lacrosse’s Sadie Grozier, Julia Lisella earn IWLCA All-Region second team honors

University of Colorado seniors Sadie Grozier and Julia Lisella have been named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association’s (IWLCA) West/Midwest All-Region Second Team, which the IWLCA announced Wednesday.

This is Lisella’s second all-region honor; she was selected to the first team in 2018, while it is Grozier’s first all-region accolade.

Lisella was named the 2021 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Pac-12 First Team. She started and played in every minute of CU’s 15 games this season and helped the Buffs advance to their third straight Pac-12 Tournament final where she was named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team. She averaged 10.07 saves per game and recorded a 47.9 save percentage, which are both 14th in the NCAA.

Grozier was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team and the Pac-12 All-Tournament team earlier this season. She led the Buffs in points (52) and was second in goals (39) and assists (13).  Her 39 goals ranked fifth in the conference but she led the Pac-12 and was eighth in the NCAA in free position goals per game (1.36).
