Overall, the Buffs are playing in their fourth consecutive title game, as they also reached the MPSF finals in 2017. The Buffs have lost their previous three championship game appearances, however. … Seeded No. 3, the Buffs are the lowest seed to reach a Pac-12 championship game (all four MPSF finals from 2014-17 were also No. 1 vs. No. 2). … The Buffs’ Grozier notched her 100th career goal in Thursday’s 9-8 semifinal win against USC. She has 101 for her career. … The Buffs have played the last two games without Rudy, who is out with an injury. It’s unclear if she’ll play against the Cardinal. … Earlier this week, CU’s Lisella was named Pac-12 defensive player of the year, while Stanford’s Baiocco was named the attacker of the year. … CU is 6-9 all-time against Stanford, but 6-3 since 2017. … Stanford won the only regular-season matchup with the Buffs this year, 10-9 in overtime on March 20 in Boulder. CU led 9-6 with 14 minutes to play, but Stanford closed on a 4-0 run. … Stanford reached the championship with an 18-11 win against Arizona State on Thursday. Baiocco and Mikaela Watson each had four goals for Stanford. … Stanford beat CU in the inaugural Pac-12 title game, 15-6, in 2018. The Cardinal also won an MPSF tournament title in 2015.
