Colorado’s football program has landed its first commitment for the 2022 class.

On Thursday night, Dylan Dixson, from Pearland (Tex.) High School, announced his verbal commitment to CU on Twitter.

“I thank God for blessing me with health, strength and opportunities to follow my dreams,” he wrote. “My family has been the backbone to this process from the beginning. Thankful to my brothers and Dad for being my first coaches with my Mom cheering us on. I am also grateful to the Pearland High School coaching staff for believing in me. Huge shout outs to Coach Brett Maxie and Head Coach Karl Dorrell for welcoming me into the Colorado Buffalo family.”

Dixson, who is 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, has played outside linebacker at Pearland, but has transitioned to safety. He has a three-star rating at and has nine total scholarship offers, including from Arizona State, Florida State, Iowa State, Missouri and Tennessee.

The 247Sports composite rankings list him as the No. 45 prospect in Texas for 2022.
