CU Buffs women’s game at USC moved to Monday

Caution with Colorado’s COVID-19 protocols causes game to be rescheduled

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

For the second time this week and the third time this season, the Colorado women’s basketball team has had to postpone a game.

On Friday evening, CU announced that its game at Southern California, scheduled for Sunday, has now been moved to Monday “due in part to an abundance of caution with CU’s COVID-19 protocols,” according to a press release.

The game at USC is set to tip off at 1 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.

The Buffs (4-5, 2-4 Pac-12) have not had any positive COVID-19 tests, according to head coach JR Payne, but there was potential contact with someone who has COVID-19. The Buffs are expecting to have everyone cleared in time to play on Monday.

CU was originally scheduled to play at UCLA on Friday, but that game was postponed Thursday because multiple injuries left UCLA without the Pac-12’s minimum requirement of seven healthy scholarship players.

On Dec. 20, the Buffs were slated to host Arizona State, but that game was postponed out of extreme caution for possible COVID-19 exposure within the Buffs.

The ASU and UCLA games have not been rescheduled.
