All righty, we're going to wrap it up. Thanks all for tuning in! I appreciate it. Stay safe out there and we'll do this again soon.....Pat R.Got a few minutes still but shot clock is ticking. If you want to chime in, now is the time!Pac-12 already has said no fans through at least Jan. 1, and then it will be reevaluated. I don't think it's out of the question we might have small-capacity attendance by the end of the basketball season. One last one: Have they made a decision on fans for the BB games this year? I suspect that they will not be allowed at all, unless there is a legitimate vaccine and you can prove that you got it.I shouldn't say just the spring ones. The remainder of the fall sports besides football also are getting eligibility relief.Like other sports (like the spring ones) the NCAA will temporarily allow additional scholarships.Maybe this is a question better asked of Brian. But since this fall doesn’t count as a year of eligibility for football, how do they know how many scholarships they can award to this year’s incoming class that will sign LOIs starting in December? Do they have to hold scholarships for those seniors who normally would be out of eligibility but now may be coming back for 2021? Or will the NCAA temporarily increase the number of scholarship players?Ha, yeah. I get it though."Unchecked media" - oh, the horror!I know we're getting up toward the top of the hour here, but if you tuned in late we started this chat a little later today. So I'll be here until at least 1:15 if you want to jump in.As of now, I unfortunately will not be able to attend basketball practice. It will be Zoom-only interviews for the foreseeable future. Maybe that will change in a few months, but personally I kind of doubt it. Chances are even postgame interviews will be remote from the press areas at football and bball. You can't really create a bubble-like atmosphere around the teams and then let media in unchecked around those teams.Okay, I thought you were referring to the first day of BB practice. That's why I asked the question earlier about your impressions. So - are you going to be limited to zoom sessions for BB as well? Or will you be able to attend practices (in a mask with social distancing of course)?Mostly technical difficulties. Haha. I jumped off before the players so I could come talk to all you fine folks, but Karl Dorrell was having a little trouble hearing us. But it was typical of what you would think for a first day---excited to get back out there, and talking a little about the bubble situation they are trying to create with the team staying at a hotel the next two weeks. You tweeted that the chat today was pushed back because you wanted to make sure you had time to stay on the first-day-of-practice Zoom. So what did that consist of?I agree that it was a little of both with Walton. And I agree he is a big 'x-factor' type key for this team. If he gets back to that form from three seasons ago it will be a huge lift for this team. For most of last year, Walton was nowhere near his level before the most recent knee injury. He played below the rim, was very tentative on offense and seemed unable to elevate for rebounds or shots. I'm sure that was part physical and part mental (lack of confidence) He did show some improvement towards the end. I think a huge key to the Buffs season will be whether he can get back to where he was in 2018-19.We just had this question, but right now I think Wright, Schwartz, Battey obviously are for sure starters. For the other two spots right now I'm going with Eli Parquet at two guard and Dallas Walton at 5. I think Dallas has a hard time being effective off the bench. Horne definitely will be part of that frontcourt rotation and then after that, yes, the next guy in line up front would be freshman Jabari Walker or Alex Strating. What do you think will be the MBB starting lineup and rotation this year? We might be thin on the front court unless one of the freshmen can be an early contributor.I think both, honestly. I'm not sure he'll start alongside Wright, just because that's two smaller guards and Keeshawn will be the backup PG. No backup to McKinley was a weakness of the team last year. But they can play together as well, and I think we'll see stretches of play like that depending on the matchups.Do you envision Barthelemy as Wright’s backup at PG or will both be on the floor a lot of the time? No, and I know if I ask Tad that he'll be non-committal and say its early and that he doesn't care who's starting. However, since the rest of us care, my guess is that you can cement the trio of Wright, Schwartz, Battey. After that, it's an off-guard and one post. I think Eli Parquet has the inside track to get the first shot at the 2-guard. At the post, personally I like starting the game with Walton, and subbing Horne in from there.Any scuttlebutt on the likely starters this year? The way Tad explained to me the other day, while dancing a little around details, is they are waiting for the P12 to finalize its league schedule before they finalize the entire schedule. I don't know this for sure, but it led me to believe its that P12 Coast to Coast challenge in Vegas in December that is up in the air. I've read that Oregon is out of the event and I've read UW is still in the event. But to answer the question, I think we'll know more by the end of next week. MWC just announced its league hoops schedule a few minutes ago.when do you think a hoops schedule will be finalized?Hoops doesn't start practice until Wednesday. And unfortunately this year I'm unlikely to be able to attend practice regularly as in years past.Did you attend practice today? If so, I assume that this morning was the first time you saw the newcomers: O’Brien, Clifford, Walker, da Silva, and Horne. Early impressions?Football and hoops practice all starting within the same week is very 2020All right folks, sorry for the delay but thanks for tuning in! I'll be here for the next hour or so to take your questions and respond to any thoughts.Greetings all. We will begin on a slight delay today at 12:15 MT. A few extra minutes to get your questions ready.
