A position where the Colorado Buffaloes already were thin on depth took another hit on Tuesday as linebacker Jash Allen entered the NCAA Transfer portal, as first reported by 247Sports.com.
Allen joined the Buffs last year as a junior college transfer from Arizona Western College, and he began his collegiate career at Riverside Community College. He was considered the No. 6 junior college prospect in America, and No. 2 at inside linebacker, by 247Sports coming out of Arizona Western, despite moving to defense in the middle of his junior college career.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Allen arrived as an inside linebacker, but on the spring depth chart he was listed at No. 2 at the defensive star position (a hybrid strong safety/outside linebacker spot) behind presumptive starter Mark Perry. He appeared in 10 games last season on special teams and also made three appearances on defense. Allen would have been a senior and has one year of collegiate eligibility remaining.
