After starting the season ranked 18th in the IWLCA preseason poll, the Colorado Buffaloes lacrosse team remained in that position in the first regular season poll after opening with a narrow 11-10 loss at then-No. 14 Florida on Feb. 8.
The Buffaloes have only played one game through the first two weeks of the season, but will be back in action this weekend with a pair of games. CU will host Harvard on Friday at Kittredge Field (4 p.m.), before hitting the road to take on No. 14 Michigan on Sunday at 10 a.m. MT.
North Carolina, which was second in the preseason poll, is the top-ranked team in the country and picked up all 25 first-place votes this week. Notre Dame moved up from seventh to second this week, while Maryland, the preseason favorite, dropped from first to third. Florida moved up to fourth after starting the season 14th and Stony Brook also made a big move, jumping up from 12th to fifth.
Three Pac-12 Conference teams are ranked in the IWLCA Top 25. Southern California leads the trio at 13th, and Stanford comes in at 24th.
