The Colorado football team will get a shot at the reigning conference champs early next season.
On Thursday, the Pac-12 released the 2020 conference schedule. Colorado will host defending champ Oregon in the opener, Sept. 26, at Folsom Field.
CU’s non-conference schedule and conference opponents have been known for years, but the schedule of conference games was not known until Thursday. Conference athletic directors voted on a schedule model earlier this week.
The Buffs (5-7, 3-6 Pac-12) open the season Sept. 5 at Colorado State and then host Fresno State on Sept. 12.
After a trip to Texas A&M – a potential Top 25 team – to close non-conference play, the Buffs will host Oregon the next week. The Ducks (12-2, 8-1), who closed this season ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press poll, are projected to go into next season as a top-10 team once again.
Following the game against the Ducks, the Buffs will have their lone bye week before a trip to Arizona for a Friday night contest. This will be the 25th consecutive season that CU has a non-Saturday game. The game against Arizona will be televised nationally by Fox or FS-1.
In addition to Oregon, CU’s conference schedule includes home dates with UCLA on Oct. 27, Arizona State on Oct. 24 and two-time defending South division champion Utah on Nov. 28.
After Arizona, CU’s road schedule includes trips to Southern California on Oct. 31, Stanford on Nov. 14 and Washington on Nov. 21.
Start times and television slots for the first three weeks will be known by June 1. Times and TV slots for conference games will be announced either 12 or six days before the games.
