Get your thoughts and questions ready for a 1 p.m. MT start Seems to be all the chatter for today so we're going to call it here. Thanks as always for tuning in! As I said I'll be in Vegas for all the hoops coverage, and we'll likely take a week off from the chat before firing it up again ahead of the Kansas game. Thanks again and enjoy the holiday weekend....Pat R.Things seem to be slowing down but I'm happy to take a few more before we're out of here.Oregon and Washington can be tough, but the toughest one when it's rockin' is probably Utah. Folks really turn out for those games.PAC 12 hardly seems like a meat grinder for road teams. Are there any tough venues besides, AZ ?Just the two games. There's other teams in Vegas for this showcase besides those four but it's only a two-game bracket. Is there another game after TCU/Clemson if the Buffs win or is it just 4 teams? I kind of missed where this is in the scheduleSome breaking news out of UA basketball as sophomore Devonaire Doutrive dismissed from team. Reserve player had averaged about 6 ppg in first thee games before the dreaded violation of team rules.Either TCU or Clemson. If it's TCU the Buffs will end up playing them three years in a row. The new Pac-12 challenge starting next year has TCU vs Buffs in Vegas, followed by another matchup in 2021 in Dallas.Who do the Buffs play if they beat Wyo?While there's a lull in the questions, just a quick note to say I will be in Vegas this upcoming week providing coverage. Flying bright and early Sunday after the football game. Leaning toward not doing a chat on the holiday Friday next week, but you all have about a half hour hear to change my mind! They have a good mix of players at that off-guard spot. Tad has said there will be ongoing competition for that spot, but I don't think he'll make a starting lineup change for Wyoming. He didn't do it after two poor games from Kountz to open, and he was solid against Irvine. Parquet has a lot of skills but he's still a bit limited offensively. Shorter stretches off the bench might be a better fit for him still right now.Maybe we will see Parquet start. I like Kountz too but I think Kountz, Daniels and Gatling would be good spark off the bench. If Wyoming is beaten down he certainly could see minutes. But meaningful ones? Yeah, he's probably not there yet. Now, he definitely has improved. But he's not ready to take minutes from Siewert-Battey-Walton or even Strating. If Wyoming is beaten down early could Dombeck see some meaningful minutes? Could he see some minutes in a closer game or is he still not there yet.The thing folks have to remember about Dallas is that with all his knee injuries, plus his redshirt year, he has played only two full seasons out of like the last six years. I'm not surprised he's a little rusty and they've said they're OK with bringing him along slowly. I think he'll get up to speed by P12 playDallas seems to be struggling to get a feel for his game. He seems likes he's lost some confidence, kind of like what happens to Siewart in stretches. Glad to see that Tad gave him more minutes to get some confidence. Maybe Wyoming will help. For me, the guy that is most improved from the end of last season through this preseason is Parquet. He's playing with much more confidence and his minutes have been very efficient. Against Irvine in 11 mins he went 1-1 on 3s, had two rebounds, two assists, and no turnovers. Plus he's a great defender. I was surprised he didn't play more in the second half vs ASU to maybe stick on Remy Martin for a few possessions when the Sun Devils were making their run. If he keeps playing like that he'll certainly see more minutes.I was impressed with Parquet. He seems like a good ball handler and decision maker. Will we see more minutes?A two-for-one here on Wyoming. They turn the ball over a lot and are only shooting about 25% from 3. They have a couple Colorado kids that might be fired up for a chance to take on the Buffs, but I expect CU to handle them with minimal stressCan we handle Wyo? We seem to struggle vs. them...even though the line-ups change, obviously. What do you make of this Wyoming team? Traditionally a very difficult fixture for CU but this year they appear to be off to a rough start.Interesting question. The Pac-12 vote this year was 27 voters that cover the league. The weekly AP has 65 spread across the country. So it's probably fair to say there's a little disrespect nationally. Guys on the east coast know about Arizona every year but not necessarily the Buffs. I don't think it matters though. If CU keeps winning the rankings will adjust accordingly. The preseason Pac 12 media polled had UO and the Buffs pretty close to the #1 spot. Since then the AP poll bumped UA ahead of us, when the media poll had them 4th. And now UW with their 1 loss is still ahead of the Buffs in the coaches poll. Now, none of this matters of course, but are the Buffs being disrespected nationally?Probably a little of both. UC Irvine did lose Max Hazzard, who went to Arizona as a grad transfer. But that's still a very solid team that I would expect to compete for the Big West crown. I think Buffs D is legit though too.I was also impressed with that win. Maybe UCI lost more from last year than advertised, or maybe the Buffs have spectacular defense.Greetings Bob. Yeah, that report/interview with Bilas was in the Post. He would have been referring to the 2010-11 team that was left out of the NCAA and made a run to the NIT Final 4. That's the only one of Tad's non-NCAA teams that had a legit argument to be in.Jay Bilas really seems to be a buff backer. read an article today where he said we're as good as anyone in the league and I remember a few years ago when he scolded the NCAA for leaving us out of the big Dance. dont remember what year it was.Was very impressed with CU hoops defense in Monday's win vs. UC Irvine. Still early obviously, but guys seem to be buying in and laying it all out on every possessionAll righty folks we are here and ready to go. I'll be happy to take your thoughts and questions over the next hour or so.Greetings Buffs fans! Big weekend on tap. Football Senior Night vs UW. Hoops heads to Vegas. Soccer in NCAA tourney later today and the cross country championships Saturday morning. I'll be happy to chat about all of it starting at 1 p.m. MT.
