Colorado spotlight on …
Numbers: This season, Montez has completed 63 percent of his passes (221 of 351) for 2,428 yards, 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, while rushing for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Saturday will be his 35th consecutive start – one of 42 school records he has either broken or tied. He has a chance to break a few others, as well.
Potential impact vs. Washington: All year, the Buffs have gone as Montez goes. When he plays well, the Buffs have a chance to win; when he doesn’t, they don’t. Like the rest of the Buffs, he’s had rough outings against Washington. The Buffs need him to be at his best in the final home game of his career.
Montez said: “We’re focused on the task at hand the task at hand isn’t to claim records. The task at hand is to go out and play the best football you can for four quarters and to go try and win a football game and that’s what we’re focused on right now. That’s what we’ve been practicing for these last two weeks and that’s what we’re gearing up to do is to go out there and try to play the cleanest, most sound football we’ve played all season.”
