NOTES: This is the Buffs’ fifth NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Danny Sanchez, and each time the Buffs have advanced out of the first round…This is CU’s third second-round matchup at North Carolina in the past six seasons. Both previous matchups, in 2014 and 2017, ended in 1-0 defeats for the Buffs…The Tar Heels are one of the tournament’s four No. 1 seeds…”I think maybe at this time of the season, along with Stanford, they’re the co-favorites to go all the way. They’ve had a fantastic season,” Sanchez said. “Unlike the last few years, they’re very healthy at the end of the year. And as we know, they run 20, 22 players at you every game. We’ll have to be up for that challenge. We’ve played a lot of really good teams and our results have been mixed. So we’re going to have to be on Friday.”…Kornieck’s 30 points is tied with former teammate Jorian Baucom for the second-best single season total in team history, behind Nikki Marshall’s 37 points in 2006…Friday’s winner will play either Texas Tech or Michigan in the Sweet 16 on Sunday at North Carolina.
