That will do it for this week, everybody. Great conversation today. we'll do this again next Monday!I think the media poll comes out around media day, which is mid-October. Athlon magazine picks the Buffs to win the conference, thoughWhen will the predictions for Pac 12 BBall be out?Buffs win a close oneprediction on Arizona game?Considering it's 2:58 p.m. and the chat ends in 2 minutes, please don't.I think Lynott and Purcell are the Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg of CU Football. Would you like me to elaborate?I know him a little bit. I'm sure he'll be just fine! You know Kizla form DP? Is he gonna make it through the year? For the most part, I agree. Air Force was a tough game for him, but he played very well at ASU.Montez has improved his pocket presence since last year. He doesn't bail out too early and spin running like he used to. His pocket movement is better , like that play to Brown. He seems to be learning and improving. He has been a big factor in keeping us in games.Offensively, I think there's the ability to play with a lot of teams, but not anyone. I still tend to think teams like Washington and Utah will beat up CU in the trenches. Defensively, yes, very young and inconsistent. I think what we're seeing out of the D is what we'll get most of the year.Offensively it feels like we have the ability to play with just about anyone. but defensively we seem young, inexperienced and inconsistent. What are your thoughts?Gotta stick with blackwhat color shorts will Tucker be wearing this Saturday? No, I haven't asked him that yet, but it is remarkable how many CU has won. Favorite Pac-12 away game site ... I'd probably say Oregon. Cool stadium and atmosphere. Washington is pretty good, too.Have you asked Coach Tucker about his philosophy of receiving if CU wins the toss? CU's stat on winning the toss is off the charts going back to last year. Second question- favorite PAC-12 away game site including grub and press box??Yes, I could see that as well. It's going to be very interesting to see how this system changes in the coming years.I can see 'unintended consequences' from the CA ruling: Schools with big donors will be able to game the system. "Come play for my school and we'll put your face on a local milk carton and give you $500k for doing so"I saw him in a walking boot last week, so not sure how much he can do. I would imagine it'll take a week for him to get up to speed againis Maddox able to stay in playing shape while waiting for his leg to heal?Nothing on the horizon at this point. But, the Buffs' success could pay off in a big wayCoaches were out recruiting more recently. Andy potential new signees we should get excited about? That does seem to draw some interestIt was more interesting asking about beer vendors. Not a silly question at all. I would list all those guys you mentioned. I'm eager to see how Rodman and Williams develop on the DL, how the RBs evolve. I'm interested to see Maurice Bell have a bigger role, and see what Vontae Shenault can do.Just curious if there are any players, besides Arias & Lytle, that you are looking forward to seeing next year. Maybe a big jump from Mark Perry? Any lineman or anyone that redshirts that you think could be huge for us? Kind of a silly question with all that is going on this year, just curious. Not really. I asked Nixon about it and he wasn't sure exactly what happened either. He said he wasn't sure if they were going to call a timeout or snap it. He also said Fontenot (who went in motion in front of Nixon) wasn't supposed to be in motion. So all in all, just a weird play.Did you ever get any explanation for that weird call near the end of the ASU game when they wildcated the ball to Nixon and went for it on 4th down?I am of the belief that CU will be in the market for a grad transfer QB. But, if they really like Lytle, Stenstrom and Lewis, maybe not.Thoughts on Tucker looking for a grad transfer QB for next year? Given what CU's offense (especially WR) production, would CU be an attractive place for say the kid out of Houston?Well, first off, it's important to note that the schools will not be paying the athletes. Alabama, for instance, could pay a LOT more than Colorado (which probably couldn't afford to pay anybody). But, that's not where the money would come from. It's all about them profiting off their image through endorsements, etc. Nothing goes into effect until January of 2023, so there's time. Frankly, I think the NCAA is headed this way at some point and this might just kick it in gear. The NCAA isn't going to win this fight, in my opinion. My guess is that by 2022 or 2023, athletes will be able to earn money through marketing, endorsements, etc. Funny thing is, we're not talking about a lot of kids. At CU, for example, how many athletes could actually make money off this? Viska, Montez, maybe KD because of personality. Maybe McKinley Wright. we're taling about a handful of kids at each school on average. How do you think this ruling out of California that college athletes can be paid is ultimately going to play out? What recourse does the NCAA have? Do you think they will threaten all schools in CA with being kicked out? I think athletes should be able to profit from their likeness, just like any other student could, but I think it is also really going to ruin the game and recruiting, which schools can pay more and help players make the most marketing themselves, etc. What are your thoughts? What do you think it ultimately going to happen? He's dealt with several injuries. What ever happened to Jared Poplawski? I don't think enough has been said on this topic. Speak freely............I would guess they might do that, at least part of the game. Tate is not as dangerous as a runner as he used to be, but you still have to account for that. One would hope that if Tate plays, that the Buff put a 'spy' on him. Your thoughts? That's fair. I'm one of the AP voters, and I can tell you there's no way I can sit and watch all the games. A CU game takes up so much of the day, it's just hard to watch multiple games. I do make sure to watch all the highlights before I vote and try to take in the whole resume of this year. But, I'm human and no doubt tradition has played a role in a vote before.Someone posted a question about rankings below. Here's my thoughts. No way the voters see more than a handful of games each weekend, thus it's like this. 1/3 based on how a team is playing, and who they played, in the current year. 1/3 based on how a team has done in the past 5 years or so. 1/3 based on a team's long term name recognition.I think he's better off the edge. He has not been good in pass coverage. He might get drafted because of his athleticism and potential, but he's so raw as a player right now.Would you rather see D. Taylor coming off the edge more? I like the way he was utilized last year and feel he could put more pressure on the QB if he blitzed more. Do you think he gets drafted next year?More towards 7-5. I think they beat Arizona, UCLA and Stanford. I think they can also get USC. I'm curious to see how Washington State responds next week at ASU after its bye. If the Cougars are still reeling, that changes the thought going into Pullman. You still leaning more towards 7-5 or are you more in the 6-6 court at this stage? That game against ASU really leads me to believe this team can take games from AZ, UCLA, Stanford, and steal one from elsewhere.I'm interested to see this week's depth chart because of the injury situation. But, I'm guessing it will show Viska and Johnson as starters.expecting any surprises on the depth chart vs AZ?I would agree. Although I'd say OSU has the third-best offense in that group, behind Bama and OklahomaAlabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and LSU all have terrific QBs and offenses. Of those teams I think that Ohio State has the best defense. If they're all healthy, I think you see Abrams, Blackmon and Miller at corner, Onu and Maddux at safety and possibly Mark Perry coming in at star.In games against Oregon and WSU hopefully all our DB's are healthy. If so who do you anticipate being out on defense when they are 5 wide (WSU more than Oregon). Does Taylor and maybe a safety spread out or do they bring out Trujillo or someone else? These games worry me.I love Arias' potential, but they've also got Tony Brown, KD Nixon and Maurice Bell, who had a great offseason as well. Right now, I think the Buffs view Bell ahead of Arias. It would probably take another injury to get Arias on the field.I know the Buffs are loaded at WR, but it really seems like Arias should get in if Viska is still out. Two years ago I remember seeing Viska on ST and wondering why he didn't get a chance to get in there. Any word on why no Arias yet?I don't know for sure, but from talking to some people this summer, they put Viska and Daniel Arias both up thereIs Viska the fastest on CU squad?I know Rice likes it here, but I haven't heard word on any upcoming commits.Any word or Rice or any other commits in the near future? In my opinion, no. I think it's unfortunate for the Pac-12 that they lost that game to Cal, because they might've had a shot at going undefeated. I think Oregon and Washington are 1-2 in the Pac-12.What is your feeling on Washington? It is hard to make sense of what is going on in the PAC 12, but do we have a shot against them this year? For sure. It starts up front. Those guys in the back need some help, too!If the defensive line can get some pressure on the opposing QB that will help the linebackers and defensive back in pass coverage.Hmm, I don't know why it sounded like that. Could have just been the acoustics in the hallwayJust watched the Daily Analysis, which are always appreciated. Today, it sounded like you and Adam were broadcasting over the PA system. Were you guys connected to a load speaker or is that just the acoustics of the Champions Hall If you were on speaker, my follow-up question, would be why was that?I think that pretty sums it up! It is very different throughout the Pac, no doubtOne thing that’s fun about the PAC 12 is the wide diversity of the fan experiences.USC is a SoCal melting pot scene, Zona’s are both massive college drunken flesh pots, Oregon’s a beer garden with a stadium, Washington’s a pasty white (all that rain) lake outing, Utah is, except for students, like watching at a church picnic, Colorado is beer, Weed and a grumpy old folks in the west side, Stanford is a crap shoot, very fickle fans, and I just don’t understand Cal.Yeah, remember at the end of spring when 4 cornerbacks "transferred." They were traded for picksI had no idea the Buffs had two picks in the NFL draft! Mel Tucker is better than I ever imagined! Two? I think there's zero chance of that. Laviska goes first round, but there's not another first rounder on this team. there are possible draft picks, but not first round. Offense, we'll see. So many things can happen between now and then, but really, the only major differences will be no Viska and no Montez. They need to find a solid QB.What are chances we get 2 1st rounders in next nfl draft? What happens to our offense next year?thanks! Yes, Landman has struggled in pass coverage. He's still making a lot of tackles, but he has looked lost a lot of times in pass coverage.GA Brian- Congratulations on your book- made a comment on Twitter, but worthy of redundancy- Props to CU on beer distribution and aluminum cups- has Landman been exposed with lateral speed? Still watch him to find the ballI've written about Jalen, but I'll get back around to him.I'm still waiting on than Jalen Sami article. I thought Van Diest and Landman were slow...I'd be happy to sign if it there's a way to do it. Possibly before a game at Folsom? Send me an e-mail if you're interested. How do we get a signed copy of your book, Brian?Yeah, I saw that. Not much CU could have done about that. Nebraska is going to travel well to those games. On the beer lines, it hasn’t been too crazy outside of Husker game when the heat and the Huskers made it unmanageable.Brian, did you get the email from Rick George where he basically apologized for all the Husker fans in the game?
