NOTES: This is CU’s first game in the annual Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge. The Buffs also play No. 5 Illinois Saturday at 3 p.m. MT…This is CU’s first visit to Iowa. The Buffs beat Iowa in 1991 but the teams didn’t play again until last year’s Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge, with the Buffs posting a four-set win in Seattle…The Buffs opened the season last week with three wins against Wyoming, LIU-Brooklyn, and UC-Santa Barbara…Iowa enjoyed a strong start to the season, posting three wins at a tournament at James Madison, including a sweep of then-No. 22 Washington State…CU senior Justine Spann paced the Buffs’ offense last week with a team-best 42 kills in the three wins, but she had solid support from freshmen Jill Schneggenburger (29 kills) and Sterling Parker (25 kills)…Sophomore setter Jenna Ewert posted 99 assists…The Buffs face a home-and-home set next week against Colorado State, with the rivals meeting Thursday in Fort Collins (7 p.m.) and Friday at the CU Events Center (6 p.m., Pac-12 Networks).
