The Colorado women’s volleyball team, which begins the season Aug. 30 against Wyoming, has been picked 10th in the Pac-12 preseason coaches’ poll released by the conference on Monday.

While Stanford and USC seem to stand out — the Cardinal are the NCAA defending champions — several teams are bunched up and the Buffs’ 44 points were within a handful of both Washington State and Cal.

Oregon and Washington were selected third and fourth, respectively.

Last year, the Buffs finished sixth with a 10-10 conference record. Two other teams had an identical mark. Colorado will look to improve behind a young crew that boasts nine new additions.

No Colorado players made the preseason All-Pac-12 team when it was released Monday, either. The Cardinal, Ducks and Trojans accounted for 11 of the 14 players on the list.
