The Colorado women’s basketball team is adding some depth to its backcourt.

On Tuesday, head coach JR Payne announced that De’Ayra Davis, a 5-foot-7 guard from Iowa Western Community College, is transferring to CU and will play with the Buffaloes next season as a walk-on.

“We are excited for De’Ayra to join our family,” Payne said in a press release from the school. “She will come to Boulder with experience and a very competitive spirit. De’Ayra loves the games of basketball and plays with a tremendous passion.”

A native of Omaha, Neb., Davis played her freshman season at Florida A&M, starting eight games and averaging 5.5 points on the season. She earned conference rookie of the week honors once.
