Have a great week everybody. We'll do this again next Monday! Thanks! Tucker definitely isn't shy going after top kids!Hello Brian! As always love the content sir! I'm loving the vibe of Mel Tucker! It seems like he knows what he is doing..especially with recruiting. I love that hes going after lots of kids early! Keep up the good work!I think there's a good chance to get Kole Taylor, but he's certainly got options. Fauria will definitely be a TE. He's got room to grow and he's already around 230.Cool! Hopefully CU keeps getting these great weapons! Last question for me, what is the Chance we nab that TE from Grand Junction? and Fauria was a great get, is he going to play TE or WR? Thanks BrianRay had a good spring. I chatted with him in April and he's healthy again and feeling good, so I expect him to be a factor this fall. ... On recruiting, the 2020 class in-state is really good, but CU is never going to get all of the top kids. Even if CU was top-20 every year, you'd see kids leave the state. So many players in Colorado haven't grown up here and didn't grow up Buffs. And, there are plenty who grew up here and just want to experience something new and different. But, if you look around most states, I'm not sure there's many where ALL the top kids stay in state.Late to chat, not sure if these have been asked.Saw that Kanan Ray had been a host for player visits. How has he been doing? Also, with better prospect coming out of Colorado, it seems we are losing all of them to bigger schools. Is this just a “star” thing, or do these players just want to go elsewhere. (Am I just getting caught up in the ratings.) Seems like we might now get a top 5 CO guy. From everything I heard - and granted the message is going to be positive anyway - it sounds like the backups had a good spring. I don't think Lytle is definitely next in line, but he's been doing well and putting himself in position for that. Sam Noyer had a good spring, too. Stenstrom has been hurt, but looks ripped now. Brendon Lewis is super talented and could push for the job next year, too. So, I think it'll be wide open, but a talented room. Lewis is definitely a dual threat guy, but he's more pass-first than run-first.How have the back up QB's been looking? I assume Lytle is next in line? What about Stenstrom? Does he have a shot? Or new Blue Chip recruit going to take the lead next year? Is he being brought in for the RPO QB?Down the final few minutes if anyone has any other questions or comments. Most are here, but I haven't met any of them. Other than knowing they are working out, I haven't heard specifics on anyone in particular. I'll hopefully start hearing some things soon. Are all of the class of 2019 recruits on campus now? Have yoy had a chance to see or meet any of them yet? If so, do any stand out for any reason? Have you heard good things about any of them from players or staff from summer workouts thus far? This staff sees him as a safety.Ha!!It's not necessarily no on a blueshirt. they have room to add one right now. And, no Udoffia won't be playing cornerSo.....No. Uff da.We’re gonna end up with receivers practicing as corners by year end. It's possible, but they'd have to do it in August. They can't sign anyone for 2019 anymore. So, they'd have to add a blueshirt - which is something that comes in after the first day of camp and counts toward the 2020 class. And, by rule, it has to be a player they haven't actively recruited - meaning, a player they didn't visit him and he hasn't been here on an official.Yes or even safety, but please God a corner. It’s such an injury prone position anyway.Meaning, could they add a transfer DB?Any portal chances on secondary at this point? Or has that ship sailed?Cool, thanks for sharing that! The atmosphere before Cu CSU is y’all at pretty good but depending on time of day make sure you have a big tent for protection. If you tailgate the asphalt and hot sun is brutal. Lots of drinking but mostly people are good natured.Little brother ain’t got nothing to talk about lately so not so much trash talk. That would do it too! haha!Brian perhaps beating Oregon and Justin Herbert on the road might move Montez pretty high in the draft! Not necessarily. They are new, but talented RBs. More than anything, they need to rely on the O-Line. But, for Montez to reach that high in the draft, I think he's got to be phenomenal this year - meaning that he has his best year and avoids mistakes and leads CU to a really good season. Then, he's got to have an even better offseason, in the senior bowl or whatever game he gets invited to, workouts, etc.Brian, what do you think it will take for Montez to be 1st or 2nd round NFL draft pick in 2020? It seems like with newbies for running backs CU may have to actually rely more on the powerful receiving corp to win this year, which should place Montez higher.Any fans want to chime in on this? I don't see the atmosphere as much as fans, but from my perspective, it's a pretty lively atmosphere around the stadium. LOTS of tailgating and games from both sides. Seems to be a pretty spirited crowd during the game, as long as it's close!Hi Brian. Hope all is well. I am in the process of booking a trip out for the csu game. I was wondering how the atmosphere is since this is my first rocky mountain showdown.I think it'll be a fairly similar team. I'm not too high on the Rams having a good season. I've seen them projected near the bottom of their division in the MWC and that sounds about right to me. I still dont' think they're very good on defense, and I'm not sure they have great weapons on offense. I'd be a bit surprised if CU doesn't win that game going awayBrian, have you been keeping track of the CSU Rams progress this Spring/Summer? Do you anticipate the Buffs facing a stronger or weaker Rams team compared to last year? That's a good question and I don't know what he would do. I think given his background at Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia and the NFL, if he does that kind of job with CU, he'll be a HOT commodity in the coaching world. At that point, I think he's going to get paid - either with a raise from CU or another job offering him a price CU won't (or can't) pay.I have yet to see the product on the field but I like what Mel Tucker has done so far, feels like he is really invested in the program, with that said, say Mel gets the Buff in the top 20-ish for consecutive years, does he stick around or does he jump ship to a Bigger program? I'd like to see him here a long time if he turns it all around :)Thanks! For those interested, sign up!Hey BrianStill could use a couple of foursomes to fill out the Ed Reinhardt Jr and Tony Bruno charity golf tournament on July 11th, 8:00 am shotgun start at Lake Valley Golf Club just north of Boulder. All proceeds benefit survivors of traumatic brain injuries through a scholarship fund that allows survivors to attend a summer mountain camp here in Colorado. Great course to play with lunch and entertainment afterwards including songs from Ed Reinhardt Jr and a poem or two from Tony Bruno. Ed and Tony were both CU students that suffered traumatic brain injuries while attending CU. If interested please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.orgHaha! Kids are just believing in what's going on in Boulder. They're getting some quality players, for sure. Top 25-30? I doubt it. When it's all said and done, I think CU winds up with a class that's top 40-50. That could change with a great year on the field. But, they're still going to have a class that ranks below USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon, for sure, in the Pac-12. Likely it's a class that ranks below Stanford. So, at best, I think you're looking at a No. 6 class in the Pac-12. Given the rankings in recent years, I'd take that for sure.I am a little surprised as to how well the CU staff is recruiting this cycle! top 30-25 possible? What is Mel Tucker feeding these kids that is having them buy into the Buffs? I love it! give me 88'-'2004' Buffs teams!!!I think it's going well. They're not putting together a top-10 or top-20 type of class, but they're a bottom-level P5 team right now, in all reality, so they're not going to be putting that type of class together. Considering where they are as a program, I think you have to like what they're doing, though.Hi Brian, how do you feel about the recruiting so far? Seems really promising! Too bad we just missed out on Dubar but still feel confident about this staffs efforts moving forward. They're getting some big guys. almost half the class is OL or DL. 3 of the 12 are OL, and that's a pretty good number, especially because they don't graduate many OL. So they've already got a bunch of young guys. I don't how many they end up with. Some of that will depend on attrition after this season. But. I don't think it'll be a full class of 25. Might be closer to 18-20.Recruiting seems to be going very well, from a Colorado point of view. Would like to see a few more big fellas and some four stars, but understand where we are as program. How many will they sign when all is said and done? They've had Ronnie Blackmon, Tava Finau, Kevin George, LJ Wallace and Dante Wigley transfer - 4 corners. And, then dismissed Hasaan Hypolite. They'll miss the depth for sure, and I think they'll miss Wigley's experience. They'd definitely miss Hypolite, who would have been a really good player. But, last week at an event in Longmont, Tucker was asked about losing so many CBs and he basically said they haven't lost anyone they view as their top corners. Depth is certainly an issue, though.Hope you're enjoying the summer Brian. Can you please remind me who as put in for transfer protocol or otherwise left the program since the Spring? Do you think the Buffs will miss any of these players?Welcome, CU fans, to our weekly chat. I hope you had a great weekend!
