If the Colorado men’s basketball team keeps rolling Sunday night against Arizona, chances are the Buffaloes will be able to make an impression on a couple of potential figures in the program’s future.

The Buffs are hosting two recruiting targets this weekend in 2020 guard Keshawn Williams from the Chicago area and 2021 guard Ty Robinson out of Eaglecrest High in Aurora.

Williams, from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights just beyond the southwest edge of Chicago, is one of several recruits the Buffs have targeted to fill the three scholarships available in 2020 as the roster currently is configured (juniors Deleon Brown, Lucas Siewert, and Shane Gatling). The Buffs already have received a verbal commitment from Columbine’s 6-foot-7 guard Luke O’Brien for the 2020 class.

Robinson is a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard at Eaglecrest who, through Friday, has averaged 12.4 points and 4.0 rebounds with a .453 shooting percentage, according to Eaglecrest’s page. Robinson also is being looked at by the CU football program, and according to he already has been offered a scholarship as part of the 2021 football class. According to, Robinson has football offers from CU and Wyoming.

Robinson caught 22 passes for 401 yards and four touchdowns last fall for the Raptors, while also going 2-for-2 for 55 yards on a couple gadget-play pass attempts.

The Buffs haven’t had a student-athlete play football and basketball in almost 30 years, yet beyond that potential with Robinson, recent football signee La’Vontae Shenault also has expressed an interest in playing both sports.
