The Colorado volleyball team posted a crucial victory early in the week against No. 21 Washington, and backed it up with a rare road sweep Wednesday night at Cal. While the Buffaloes attempt to take advantage of a momentary turn in the schedule, the one exception to that run is a date against one of the top programs in the nation tonight.
A look at the Buffs’ match at Stanford:
Colorado volleyball at No. 2 Stanford
Game time: 8 p.m. tonight, Stanford, Calif.
Broadcast: Pac-12 Mountain and Pac-12 Bay Area.
Records: CU 14-10, 6-7 Pac-12 Conference; Stanford 20-1, 12-0.
Notes: The Buffs have won back-to-back matches for the first time since nonconference play. … Senior outside hitter Alexa Smith set a team record in Wednesday’s victorious sweep at Cal by attempting 32 swings without a single error. … CU was swept at home by Stanford on Oct. 7, and the Buffs are just 1-19 all-time against the Cardinal. … Stanford’s only loss this season was a five-set defeat against now-No. 1 BYU on Aug. 31. … The Buffs host their final homestand next week against Arizona State and Arizona.
