Game preview: No. 21 Washington at Colorado volleyball

The Colorado volleyball team is running out of time to make a run at a second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

The Buffaloes, who reached the Sweet 16 last season for the first time in 20 years, play only three of their final nine regular-season games at home after falling to 4-7 in the Pac-12 Conference following Friday’s four-set loss against No. 19 Washington State.

The Buffs get yet another chance at a ranked foe Sunday against No. 21 Washington. A look at the matchup:

No. 21 Washington at Colorado volleyball

Game time: Sunday, noon, CU Events Center.

Broadcast: Pac-12 Washington

Records: Washington 13-8, 5-6 Pac-12 Conference; CU 12-10, 4-7.

Notes: The Buffs fell into a tie for ninth in the Pac-12 following Friday’s loss against Washington State … CU is just 1-8 against raked foes this season … A few good wins certainly could salvage the postseason picture for the Buffs, who began this past week at No. 65 in the RPI … Following Sunday’s match, the Buffs will play just two of their final eight regular season games at home … The Buffs hit the road next weekend to face Cal (Wednesday, 8 p.m. MT, Pac-12 Networks) and No. 2-ranked Stanford (Friday, 8 p.m. MT, Pac-12 Networks).
