Colorado volleyball coach Jesse Mahoney and the Buffaloes will have to get the job done on the road to make a run at the NCAA Tournament. But not until after a home series that begins Friday against Washington State.

The Colorado volleyball team once again will try to get the job done down the stretch.

The Buffaloes completed a tough yet disappointing first half of the Pac-12 Conference schedule at 4-6 in the league and tied for eighth-place. A year ago the Buffs also were in the middle of the pack with a 5-5 mark at the halfway point, but CU went 7-3 in the second half, eventually advancing into the Sweet 16 for the first time in 20 years.

Seven of CU’s first 10 league opponents were ranked, a run that continues this weekend at home against No. 19 Washington State and No. 21 Washington. A look at Friday’s match against the Cougars:

Barkman also is next on that list at 1,220 kills…CU suffered a four-set loss at Washington State (then ranked No. 22) on Sept. 30…The Buffs host No. 21 Washington on Sunday (noon, Pac-12 Washington).
