CU Buffs’ Shenault won’t play vs. Washington

SEATTLE – The nation’s leading receiver will not play on Saturday.

Colorado sophomore Laviska Shenault, Jr., did not make the trip to the Buffaloes’ game at Washington because of a toe injury sustained a week ago in a 31-20 loss to Southern California.

The Buffs (5-1, 2-1 Pac-12) are without several key players for the match up with the No. 15 Huskies (5-2, 3-1).

In addition to Shenault, receiver Jay MacIntyre (concussion), cornerback Delrick Abrams, Jr. (calf), and place kicker James Stefanou (hip) are out with injuries.

Shenault has 60 catches for 780 yards and six touchdowns this season, leading the country in catches (10.0) and receiving yards (130.0) per game. He also has five rushing touchdowns.

A starting slot receiver, MacIntyre has 14 catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns. Abrams has been the Buffs’ top corner, with 30 tackles and five pass breakups. Stefanou has handled all place-kicking duties for the past two seasons and is 5-for-8 on field goals and 26-for-26 on extra points this season.
