There is no rest for the weary for any volleyball team in the Pac-12 Conference.
So far, each of the Colorado Buffaloes’ first three league games have been top-25 showdowns, a run that continued Friday night in a four-set loss at No. 13 Washington. The Buffs will face another top-25 foe Sunday afternoon and will have an opportunity to split those first four big-time showdowns when they visit Washington State. A look at the matchup:
No. 23 Colorado volleyball at No. 22 Washington State
Game time: Sunday, 1 p.m. MT, Bohler Gym, Pullman, Wash.
Records: CU 9-5, 1-2 Pac-12 Conference; WSU 10-3, 1-2.
Notes: CU redshirt freshman middle blocker Danielle Price had not recorded more than six blocks in any match before posting a career-best 10 Friday night at Washington…While the teams split their matches last year, with each squad winning at home, CU leads the series against the Cougars 10-4. The Buffs are 3-3 all-time at WSU…Like the Buffs, the Cougars have faced top-25 foes in each of their first three Pac-12 games, opening the league slate with five-set losses at Washington and Oregon before defeating Utah at home Friday night. That match also was five sets, meaning CU and WSU have combined to compete in 29 of a possible 30 sets so far in league play…CU returns to Boulder to begin a run of four consecutive home games next weekend against Cal and No. 2 Stanford.
