With some of the nation’s top teams still on the horizon, the Colorado women’s soccer team has another opportunity to entrench its place among the lead pack in the Pac-12 Conference with a two-game trip through Arizona. It begins Thursday at Arizona State, where the Buffs won for the first time in four tries in their last visit in 2016. A look at the matchup:

Notes: Barton began the week ranked second in the nation in goals. Barton is just one of five Buffaloes players to score 11 goals in a season…Kornieck has tied CU’s single-season record for assists, first set by Kathryn Grandinetti in 2003…Kornieck also has moved into fifth-place among CU’s all-time points leaders with 57 (20 goals, 17 assists)…At the season’s halfway point, the Buffs already have broken the team record for assists in a season with 38. The previous mark of 35 was set in 2004 and 2014…The Sun Devils lead the series against CU 5-3-1, but the Buffs have won three of the past four matchups…The Buffs topped ASU 3-0 at home last year behind two goals from Marty Puketapu and a goal and an assist from Megan Massey…ASU has won four consecutive games and opened league play with a 2-1 win at Cal thanks to a goal and an assist from Douglas…The Buffs play at Arizona on Sunday (1 p.m. MT, Pac-12 Network).
