The first goal of the season by Colorado senior Megan Massey (left) lifted the Buffaloes to a 2-1 road win Thursday at Marquette.

The Colorado women’s soccer team played out of the state for the first time on Thursday at Marquette and also played while behind on the scoreboard for the first time this season. However, two goals in the game’s final 22 minutes, including the winner from Megan Massey in the 85th minute, allowed CU to remain unbeaten with a 2-1 win. A look at the Buffs’ match on Sunday at Michigan State, the final nonconference game away from home:

Eight different players scored goals for CU the entire 2017 season…With 23 assists through six games, the Buffs are well on their way toward breaking the team record of 35 assists set in 2004 and 2014…CU has played Michigan State just once, suffering a 2-1 overtime loss at home in 2016…Tompkins’ next win will be the 30th of her CU career. She will be the fourth Buffs goalkeeper to reach that mark…The Buffs return home for their final two nonconference games, hosting Utah Valley on Thursday and Denver on Sept. 16.
