CU Buffs football gets commitment from three-star safety Mark Perry

The Colorado football program’s tradition of excellence in the defensive backfield is looking like a big draw for potential recruits.

For the second time in less than a week, the Buffaloes on Wednesday received a verbal commitment from a defensive back out of southern California, this time receiving the pledge from Mark Perry, a safety from Rancho Cucamonga.

Last week, the Buffs also received a verbal commitment from Jaylen Martin, a cornerback from Roosevelt High in Corona. While Perry and Martin will join CU in 2019, the Buffs also are bringing in junior college defensive back Mekhi Blackmon this fall.

Like Martin, Perry is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com. Perry also was considering CU’s Pac-12 rivals at Arizona and Arizona State. He is the 10th player to commit to the Buffs’ 2019 class.
