After spending last weekend on the Colorado campus, Braedin Huffman-Dixon decided it was a place he could call home.

On Tuesday, the four-star recruit from Santa Ana, Calif., gave his verbal commitment to CU for the class of 2019.

A 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver from Mater Dei High School, Huffman-Dixon ranks as one of the top prospects in California. In addition to CU, he has offers from Arizona State, Georgia, Nebraska, Oregon, Purdue, UCLA and USC.

CU’s quarterback commit for 2019, Palmer Ridge’s Ty Evans, was excited about the news, tweeting, “OHHHHH YEAH. Welcome to the family bro!!! We gonna light up scoreboards!!!”

Huffman-Dixon is the latest top-notch receiver recruit for the Buffs in recent years. It’s a list that includes 2017 signees Maurice Bell, Jaylon Jackson, KD Nixon and Laviska Shenault and 2018 signees Daniel Arias, Dimitri Stanley and Dylan Thomas.

CU now has five players committed for the 2019 class, including Valor Christian running back Joshia Davis, Skyline (Tex.) High School linebacker Kamryn Farrar and Highlands Ranch offensive lineman Austin Johnson.
