The George King tryout tour is about to begin.

The outgoing senior from the University of Colorado men’s basketball team has been selected to play in a pair of prestigious postseason showcases for professional hopefuls.

First, King will play in the National Association of Basketball Coaches College All-Star Game on March 30 as part of the Final Four festivities on San Antonio. The game is reserved for some of the top senior players in the nation whose teams no longer are playing in the NCAA Tournament.

Next month, King will compete at the Portsmouth Invitational Showcase, a four-day event for NBA draft hopefuls and other pro prospects. The showcase runs April 11-14, and last year the event proved to be a big stepping stone for former CU star Derrick White’s eventual selection in the first round of the NBA draft by San Antonio.

King was a second team All-Pac-12 selection this past season after ranking second on the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game and first in rebounding at 7.8 per game.
