A look at CU lacrosse’s home opener against San Diego State

After playing two games in Florida and another at nationally-ranked Northwestern, the Colorado women’s lacrosse team finally gets to host its home opener Sunday against San Diego State. Here is a look at the matchup.

San Diego State at No. 20 Colorado

GAME TIME: Sunday, noon, Kittredge Field.

RECORDS: San Diego State 2-1; Colorado 1-2.

LEADERS: San Diego State — Goals: Harlowe Steele, 10; Assists: Elizabeth Rourke, 8; Goalie: Katy Sharretts, 13.67 goals-against average, .468 save percentage. Colorado — Goals: Miranda Stinson 10; Assists: Darby Kiernan and Samantha Nemirov, 3; Goalie: Sophia Gambitsky, 13.60 goals-against average, .346 save percentage.

NOTES: Until this season the Aztecs and Buffs were league rivals in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. CU has won all six games between the programs…This is the first of four consecutive home games for the Buffs, a run that continues March 4 against Virginia Tech…Kiernan scored three goals in CU’s 17-5 road win against SDSU last year…San Diego State opened the season with wins against two of the Buffs’ Pac-12 Conference rivals, Cal and Arizona State, before suffering a 17-12 loss Friday at No. 21-ranked Denver.
