After suffering the first of the season at then-No. 5 Florida, the Colorado women’s lacrosse team faces another tough road challenge Thursday at No. 9 Northwestern. A look at the matchup:

No. 19 Colorado at No. 9 Northwestern

GAME TIME: Thursday, 1 p.m. MST, Evantson, Ill.

RECORDS: CU 1-1; Northwestern 2-0.

NOTES: CU coach Ann Elliott played at Northwestern and also was an assistant coach there before taking over the Buffaloes’ new program five years ago…CU opened the 2017 season with an 11-10 overtime win against the Wildcats, getting three goals and an assist from Miranda Stinson…This week, Stinson was named the first Offensive Player of the Week in the new Pac-12 women’s lacrosse league after scoring a team-record seven goals with one assist in last week’s season-opening win against Michigan. Stinson added a goal in the loss against Florida…CU junior Samantha Nemirov enjoyed a solid start to the season last weekend. After recording seven goals in 15 games last year, Nemirov posted five goals and one assist in the Buffs’ first two games…The Buffs don’t host their home opener until Feb. 25 against San Diego State. That will be the first of four consecutive home games for CU.
