A look at Colorado volleyball’s final regular season road game at Cal

Only two games remain in the regular season for the Colorado volleyball team, and the Buffaloes begin the final week in strong position for the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth since 2014.

The Buffs play at Cal Wednesday night and will recognize this year’s seniors — Joslyn Hayes, Anna Pfefferle, and Stephanie Shadley — during Friday’s finale against No. 17 Utah at the Coors Events Center.

Here is a look at Wednesday’s matchup:

Colorado volleyball at Cal

WHEN: Wednesday, 4 p.m., Berkeley, Calif.

BROADCAST: Pac-12 Mountain.

RECORDS: CU 21-8, 11-7 Pac-12 Conference; Cal 13-16, 4-14.

NOTES: CU begins the final week of the regular season in fifth-place in the league while holding the No. 22 spot in the RPI…After a 2-4 start in the league, CU has won nine of its past 12 matches…The Buffs have won five of their past six games against Cal…Anna Pfefferle (455 career blocks) and Naghede Abu (430) rank second and fourth, respectively, among the program’s all-time blocks leaders. Abu needs 11 more to match Alison Koepke (441) for third-place…Cal owns a six-game losing streak…Friday’s home finale against No. 17 Utah begins at 8 p.m. and will air live on Pac-12 Mountain…The NCAA Tournament selection show is Sunday night at 7 p.m. MST. It will air live on ESPNU.
