Colorado’s Jalen Tompkins made 15 saves in 155 minutes in two games last week.

Colorado sophomore Jalen Tompkins was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday. It is her third career weekly award from the conference and first this season.

She is also the second Buffs player to earn a player of the week award this season, joining Joss Orejel, who was Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 29.

Tompkins was key in two shutouts by the Buffs last week. She made four saves in 45 minutes in a 3-0 win over Arizona State on Thursday. She then made a season-high 11 saves in a scoreless draw with Arizona on Sunday.

In that match, she stopped a breakaway in the 54th minute and then saved a free kick from 18 yards out just two minutes later.

In the first overtime period, she made a spectacular diving save to keep the match alive. Against Arizona, nine of her 11 saves came after halftime. For the week, she made 15 saves in 155 minutes.
