CU announced on Tuesday that it will play a pair of games with Northwestern in the future.

The Buffs will play in Evanston, Ill., on Sept. 19, 2026, and then host the Wildcats in Boulder on Sept. 11, 2027.

“This will be a great series for several reasons,” CU athletic director Rick George said in a press release. “Not only is it a quality match-up between two great academic and Pac-12 and Big Ten institutions, it’s important for us to get to that part of the country and the Chicago area for our alumni we have there.”

CU and Northwestern have played twice before. Northwestern beat the Buffs 35-14 on Sept. 29, 1951, in Chicago, and the Buffs won 55-7 in Boulder on Sept. 30, 1978.
