The Colorado women’s lacrosse team has moved into the top five in two of the three national polls this week.

Following Sunday’s 16-11 win at home against Oregon, CU remained fourth in the Cascade/Inside Lacrosse media poll but moved from sixth to fourth in the Nike/U.S. Lacrosse Magazine poll. In the IWLCA Coaches’ poll, the Buffs jumped from seventh to sixth.

Currently 9-0 for the first time in the program’s four-year history, the Buffs are one of three unbeaten teams remaining in the NCAA Division I, alongside Maryland (7-0) and Princeton (5-0). Maryland holds the top spot in all three national polls. Princeton is fifth in the U.S. Lacrosse Magazine poll and sixth in the coaches and media polls.

The Buffs extended their school record win streak to nine with wins last week against Winthrop and Oregon despite playing without Johnna Fusco, who ranks third on the team in goals (20) and is tied for third in points (26).

CU, which is 2-0 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, hosts Fresno State (6-2, 0-1 MPSF) Saturday at noon.
