Ceal Barry, Mark Wetmore receive honors from Sportswomen of Colorado

University of Colorado basketball coach and administrator Ceal Barry will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Sportswomen of Colorado.

Sportswomen of Colorado will honor Colorado’s top female athletes and contributors to women’s athletics at its 43rd Annual Awards Celebration on Sunday, March 12, at the Infinity Park Events Center.

Barry is currently the senior associate athletic director at Colorado. She is in her 10th year as the department’s senior woman’s administrator.

Barry coached the women’s basketball team from 1983-2005. She complied 427-242 record with 11 appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

Sportswomen of Colorado will also honor Colorado cross country coach Mark Wetmore as their coach of the year. Wetmore led the women’s cross country team to a third-place finish at NCAAs.

Wetmore also trained Jenny Simpson and Emma Coburn, who both won bronze medals, for the Olympics.
