CU Buffs lacrosse’s Maddie DeWinter and Paige Soenksen earn ccademic honors

University of Colorado lacrosse players Maddie DeWinter and Paige Soenksen were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll. To qualify, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater. DeWinter and Soenksen are the first two CU lacrosse players to earn the award as the Buffaloes just finished their third season of competition.

DeWinter, a junior from Parker, has a 3.918 grade point average and is majoring in chemical and biological engineering. She played in nine games as a reserve midfielder this past season, recording two goals and one assist for three points. She also had six ground balls and caused three turnovers.

Soenksen, a junior from Encinitas, Calif., has a 3.901 and is a double-major in international affairs and Chinese. She was a second-team all-MPSF selection and started all 18 games at goalkeeper. She posted a 7.23 goals-against average and made 109 saves for a .464 save percentage.
