Thomas Akyazili continued showcasing his all-around skills for the Belgian U20 national team on Wednesday. Yet it wasn’t enough for his squad to avoid being relegated to the consolation bracket of the European Championships.

The sophomore guard from the University of Colorado recorded a team-high 13 points against Ukraine, but Belgium was outscored 28-9 in the third quarter before suffering a 95-73 loss.

The Belgium U20 team (1-3) will compete for the ninth through 16th spots beginning Friday against Israel at 9:30 a.m. MDT.

Akyazili went only 5-for-16 from the field, but he went 2-of-5 from 3-point range. He also added four assists, three rebounds, two steals, and two blocked shots in almost 30 minutes.

Through four games, Akyazili ranks second on the team with 11.8 points per game and ranks third with four rebounds per game. After going 18-for-18 at the free throw line through the first three games, Akyazili suffered his first miss with a 1-for-2 mark against Ukraine.
