The Colorado Buffaloes have announced their women’s soccer schedule for 2016.

After a run of consecutive NCAA tournament appearances ended with a 7-10-3 mark last fall, the Buffs will begin their drive at a comeback in a season-opening date on Aug. 19 at Air Force.

The 20-game schedule features 12 home dates and eight road games, with the Buffs opening their home slate on Sunday, Aug. 21 against state rival Colorado State.

Following a two-game Midwest trip to face former Big 12 Conference rivals Kansas and Missouri, the Buffs begin a five-game nonconference homestand against Michigan State on Sept. 1. That run concludes with CU’s final match in the Colorado Cup against the University of Denver on Sept. 17.

The Buffs begin Pac-12 Conference play with three consecutive games on the road against Washington State (Sept. 23), Arizona (Sept. 29), and Arizona State (Oct. 2). If CU posts solid results in that opening league run on the road, the Buffs will be well-positioned in the league while playing six of their final eight games on their home turf at Prentup Field. CU’s first league home game is against Oregon on Oct. 6.

Overall the Buffs will face six teams that reached the NCAA tournament in 2015, including home dates against Washington (Oct. 14) and USC (Oct. 30).
