CU men’s golf: Buffs to host 2017 Pac-12 Championships

The University of Colorado announced its men’s golf schedule for the entire 2016-17 season, a slate highlighted with the Buffs hosting the Pac-12 Championships next spring.

Next year’s league tournament will be held at Boulder Country Club April 28-30, 2017. It will mark the first time CU has hosted a conference championship golf tournament since the 1972 Big 8 tournament, which also was held at Boulder Country Club.

“We’re real excited about our overall schedule, as it’s incredibly competitive once again,” head coach Roy Edwards said. “The opportunity to host the Pac-12 Championship at home is unique and exciting. It will be fun, not only for our team, but to showcase the entire Pac-12 in our own backyard.”

CU opens the fall slate with the Ballyneal Challenge against Wyoming and Northern Colorado, and the Buffs will host the seventh annual Mark Simpson-CU Invitational on Sept. 26-27 at the Colorado National Golf Course in Erie.

For the 12th consecutive year the Buffs will open their spring slate at the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii on Feb. 2-4.

The CU women’s program also announced its fall schedule, which will begin on Sept. 12-13 at the Branch Law Firm Invitational in New Mexico.
