CU tennis: Buffs roll to easy victory over Boise State

The Colorado women’s tennis team had a perfect day at Rocky Mountain Tennis Center on Sunday, rolling to a 7-0 victory over Boise State.

The Buffs, coming off a loss Saturday to the University of Denver, improved to 3-2.

“Boise State was definitely a challenging team,” head coach Nicole Kenneally said. “I think anytime there were opportunities that they could’ve jumped back in there, we did a great job of stopping their run and not letting them get the momentum back. In quite a few situations, whether we realize it or not, there were a couple of moments there where it was very close and could’ve been a momentum change if we didn’t take care of business. It was good to see us take care of business when we needed to.”

CU’s Nuria Ormeño Ruiz and Tina Bokhua picked up a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, and Annabelle Andrinopoulos and Jeannez Danielalso won 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.

Andrinopoulos then turned in a victory at No. 3 singles, beating Arianna Paules Aldrey 6-4, 6-3.

“Having a tough battle yesterday, we talked about as soon as you leave the facility, you’ve got to learn from it and catalog it and move on,” Kenneally said. “I think everyone did their due diligence between matches and did their best to get ready for today.
