SEATTLE — The losing streak continued for the Colorado women's basketball team on Friday night.

Of greater concern, however, is the health of their star point guard.

For the first time in her career, senior Kennedy Leonard did not suit up for the Buffaloes, as she is dealing with a foot sprain. CU head coach JR Payne told Buffzone that Leonard is "day to day."

Without their leading scorer and floor general, the Buffs lost at Washington, 68-58, at Alaska Airlines Arena.

Washington (8-8, 1-3 Pac-12) snapped a 13-game conference losing streak, dating back to last season, while CU (10-5, 0-4) has lost six consecutive conference games, and four in a row overall.

Monarch High School graduate Peyton Carter got her first career start in place of Leonard, but played just five minutes. The Buffs also used true freshman Sila Finau at the point, as she finished with nine points and one assist in 30 minutes.

CU fell behind 17-3 in the first five minutes. While they outscored the Huskies 55-51 during the last 35 minutes, the Buffs never fully overcame their slow start. Washington's lead never dipped below six points, and the Huskies led by as many as 16.

Junior Quinessa Caylao-Do, from nearby Tacoma, led CU with 13 points and four assists. Mya Hollingshed had 13 points and seven rebounds, while senior Alexis Robinson added 11 points.

Leonard had played in each of CU's 108 games since she arrived in 2015, 107 of those as a starter. She had started 100 consecutive games, matching the fourth-longest streak in CU history.

Among the Pac-12 leaders in assists and steals, Leonard recently broke CU's all-time record for assists and ranks 10th in scoring.

Washington was led by Amber Melgoza, who scored 15 points.

This is CU's first 0-4 start to conference play since 2015-16, when it started 0-9.

The Buffs will look to bounce back on Sunday against Washington State (1 p.m., Pac-12 Networks).
