The University of Colorado women's basketball team will play eight home games during its 2016-17 non-conference schedule, head coach JR Payne announced Wednesday.

For the first time in three years, Colorado will open on the road as the Buffaloes are scheduled to face the Northern Colorado Bears on Friday, Nov. 11 in Greeley. The contest will mark only the sixth time Colorado has played at UNC in 17 all-time meetings. The Buffs have won the last eight games against their in-state opponent.

Two days later, the Buffaloes will host Air Force in their home opener at the Coors Events Center on Sunday, Nov. 13, and are scheduled to play seven of the next eight games on their home court. Colorado then welcomes the Kentucky Wildcats to Boulder for the first time ever on Saturday, Nov. 19 after the two teams squared off in Lexington last season.

Colorado's second of three road non-conference games comes on Tuesday, Nov. 22 when the Buffaloes visit North Dakota State for the first time in program history.

The Buffaloes return to the Coors Events Center to begin a five-game homestand when the team hosts the 30th Annual Omni Hotels Classic over Thanksgiving, Nov. 25-26.

The Buffs will face defending Mountain West Conference regular season and conference tournament champion Colorado State on Thursday, Dec. 8.

All dates are subject to change and times will be announced at a later date. The 2016-17 Pac-12 Conference schedule will be released in September.
