Colorado volleyball coach Liz Kritza gained a foreign player on Tuesday.

Elizabeth Reid of London turned in her national letter of intent and will join the program in 2010, along with six others who signed with the program in the past week.

Reid is a 5-foot-11 outside and right side hitter at Jefferson College in Missouri. She will transfer to CU after completing her spring semester there.

"Her international experience and maturity are both important factors as she joins us to build an elite level program," Kritza said of Reid. "She is a very focused young woman who has designs on playing volleyball at the highest levels after completing her studies and is preparing to compete for her country`s national team in the next Olympic Games. We are pleased to call her a Buff."

Reid has been named all-conference and all-region, as well as an NJCAA All-American while at JC.

Harriers ranked No. 6

Both the women`s and men`s cross country teams were ranked No. 6 in the final USTFCCCA Coaches Top 30 after placing first and second, respectively, at the NCAA Mountain Region Championship on Saturday.

Honored

Senior Kaitlyn Burkett and sophomore Rosie Steinhaus were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball Team.

Steinhaus was named to the first team to earn her first conference academic honor, while Burkett was named to the second team for the third time.

Kelly signs three

Golf coach Anne Kelly added three athletes earlier this week.

Twins Jenny and Kristin Coleman (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.), along with another California product, Tessa The (Los Altos, Calif.), turned in their national letter of intent to join the program in 2010.
