The Colorado volleyball team lost a pair of close sets to start the match and couldn`t recover enough against Missouri on Saturday night.

The Tigers topped the Buffs 29-27, 25-23, 19-25, 25-19 at the Coors Events Center.

The Buffs fell to 7-19 overall and 2-15 in Big 12 Conference play with only three matches left in the season. Missouri improved to 17-11 and 8-8.

The Buffs were tied 27-all in the first set and 23-all in the second before losing both.

After CU rallied from an 8-2 deficit to win the third, Missouri jumped out to an early lead in the fourth and held on for the victory.

"There were moments of brilliance tonight, but it was not enough for us to overcome some untimely errors and lapses in our serve reception," CU coach Liz Kritza said. "We are continuing to work to correct those and learn to play a more efficient game. We have to recognize that we make it harder on ourselves at times."

Kerra Schroeder led the Buffs with a career-high 16 kills, while Becah Fogle had 13 and Rosie Steinhaus added 11.

Sofia Lindroth had 19 digs to lead the Buffs defensively and Fogle added 11.

CU returns to action on Nov. 21 in a 6 p.m. match at Kansas State.
