Becah Fogle led the Buffs with her fourth double-double of the season (11 digs and 10 kills). Rosie Steinhaus added nine kills and Schylur Edelman tallied eight kills.
Colorado fell to 5-11 overall and 0-7 in the Big 12, while Missouri improved to 11-6, 3-3.
"This team has the opportunity to improve every time we play against a Big 12 opponent," Kritza said. "Tonight we improved as a team with some different faces on the court contributing and we will use this as a springboard for continuing with our quest to field a high-level team on a consistent basis."
Nikki Kinzer hit a team-high .571 with four kills on seven errorless swings. Edelman was second at .400. CU recorded 36 kills in the match and hit .099.
Three Buffs, including Fogle, recorded 10 or more digs. Kerra Schroeder had a team-high 14 digs and Katie Evanyo, a junior who was added to the roster on Monday, added 10 digs in her CU debut.
The Buffs will be back in action next Wednesday when they host Texas Tech at the Coors Events Center at 7 p.m.
Barringer finalist
for athlete of year
Colorado senior Jenny Barringer was named a finalist for the USA Track and Field Jesse Owens Athlete of the Year Award presented by Nike.
Barringer is the only collegiate athlete nominated for this year`s award. The other females include Allyson Felix, Carmelita Jeter, Brittany Reese and Sanya Richards. Barringer is also the only distance runner in the final five; three are sprinters and one is a jumper.
This year`s award will be presented Dec. 5, at the Jesse Owens Awards and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, held in conjunction with USA Track & Field`s 2009 Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Dec. 2-6.
