The unbeaten season came to a screeching halt Sunday for the Colorado women's soccer team, as the Buffaloes dropped a 7-0 decision at top-ranked Stanford.

It was a rough opener for the Buffs' demanding season-ending run, which continues Thursday afternoon at Prentup Field against the No. 2-ranked USC Trojans. On a weekend that also features a Sunday matchup against No. 8 UCLA, the Buffs begin play four points behind league co-leaders Stanford and USC and one point behind UCLA.

Notes: The Buffs had not allowed more than one goal in any game and had conceded eight all season before losing 7-0 Sunday at top-ranked Stanford...CU is just 3-6 all-time against USC with losses in the past three matchups...The Buffs are 10-0-2 in their past 12 home games, dating back to a midseason home loss against Stanford in 2017...The Trojans began the week ranked second in the nation in scoring (2.81 goals per game) ninth in scoring defense (.428). Both marks edge Stanford for the Pac-12 lead...With three games remaining, all at home, Baucom's 30 points trails only Nikki Marshall (37 in 2006) for the best single-season total in team history. Kornieck is one of six CU players in program history with at least 26 points in a season, and she needs two more to match former teammate Danica Evans' 28 points in 2016 as the third-most in team history...USC's only defeat was a 1-0 overtime decision against Stanford...The Buffs host No. 8 UCLA Sunday at Prentup (2 p.m., Pac-12 Network) before closing the regular season at home against Utah on Nov. 2.
