Colorado soccer players Taylor Kornieck and Danica Evans both earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Pacific Region honors on Wednesday. Kornieck was a first-team selection and Evans was named to the third team.
Kornieck is CU's first first-team selection since 2006 when Nikki Marshall and Laura Munnelly were both named to the Central Region first team.
Kornieck completed a stellar freshman season for the Buffs this year, starting all 22 matches as a central midfielder. She scored 11 goals and had four assists for 26 points. Her six game-winning goals rank among the national leaders. She was also a first-team all-Pac-12 selection and was chosen as the conference's freshman of the year.
Evans wrapped up her senior campaign this fall, starting all 22 matches at forward. She led the team with 28 points, scoring 11 goals and adding six assists. She was also a first-team all-Pac-12 selection.
